Using Automatic Hyphenation
When working with columns, it makes sense to activate automatic hyphenation for every
Paragraph Style (do so by calling up the context menu of the Styles and Formatting window
and clicking Modify... to access the Paragraph Style dialogue > click the Text Flow tab).
Enter a “3” for Characters at line end and Characters at line begin to ensure that
hyphenated words have at least three characters at the beginning or end of a line. For text
alignment in columns, choose Justify on the Alignment tab.
